    ESC for TP4060 1870kv, 6s & 48mm prop in mono hull?

I've been searching the forums to figure out how many amps I'll need out of an ESC for this build and I've read that with the prop I've chosen...

    2-blade, 48 mm (1.890''), 67.2 mm (2.646'') pitch

...the system could draw upwards of 280 amps constant for some durations. This build is just for bashing in a Spartan hull (when it comes apart I'll upgrade). I don't want to starve the setup of amps. I was looking at the Tunigy 180amp ESC's, but now I'm starting to think I need more like a Swordfish or Castle 220/240 and up at bare minimum. Also, I have a pair of Trinity Titanium 3s 50C-90C burst, 5,000mAh hard packs I plan to use. I'd like to run them in series. I'm totally new to RC boating (complete newb). School me.

That esc will not survive long drawing a constant 280 amps. You will need a much larger esc, or scale back on your motor/ prop choice to reduce the amp draw.

I've got that motor, have not run it yet but I was going to use a SF200 Pro Plus. I do have a pair of the 1400kv 4Y versions in my Cheetah running on the SF200 Pro Pluses and the data log showed a 189 max amp. use and that was after 6 laps WFO. Definitely need more than a 180A ESC, then. Ok, thank you for the tips. I'm already shopping catamaran hulls to move this powertrain into. I bought a pair of 4082 Leopards & intended to run one in the Spartan, but maybe they'd make for an ok twin setup in a cat. I keep bumping it up & I'm afraid the poor little plastic Spartan will have a lifespan similar to meteorites on entry to Earth atmosphere...
