i should mention i only ran the 445 once so i really didn't work on any setup.

i can tell you immediately that if you rest the boat on a flat surface, the gap between the bottom of my strut and the surface below it is 3/16

yes I'm running the castle 1515 on 5s2p and 642 prop. my gps reads 60 consistently
There's a hole at the center of earth where the rest of the world sinks but i stand still...

Great speed! You know, it is funny, that was exactly what happened during my maiden of the MM, I had a short rudder and the boat spun out constantly, and at the end, when I was only doing part throttle, I turned the boat and she flipped! But I had no sibling to cast a fishing line, good thing I had wind...
Looks good, looking forward to you new rudder video!

That is exactly my strut's position. Nice lay out!

Great info and pics! Looks like you are running the castle green motor vs the Neu smooth black can. They are both made by Neu correct? The green one is mass produced for cars from what I understand. They are way cheaper. Is there any down side to them? Do they take the same water jacket? Also, what spec batteries are you guys running?

The black Neu is Made In USA, the green motor is a Castle Creation product ,Made in China to their strict standard. They had taken Neu's design and there was collaboration between them, hence its known as Castle-Neu motor. Yes,its for cars but on boats its just as great a motor, I love it, it is very efficient and on my Insane 34 Mono its power on 4s is great!
It uses a smooth bored jacket, without the "O" ring groove, because the "O" ring is lodged between the ribs on the motor can. OSE sells them. I run 4s2P on my Insane 34 Mono, I use Castle Creation's Hydra Ice II 240 A esc , Dynogy 65c 4s, 5000 and 6500 mah batteries on that boat.

                  Hi T ,

She was a squirrly sob for sure .
We were in the backside of the smaller of the 2 lakes at Julius Kleiner park because its a Lil' more sheltered from the wind, even though its blowing 25mph right at the camera. It would have blown the boat in, in a minute anyway.

Too bad my spekky Rx drops signal less than 200' out cause I really like my m11 , so iswitched back to my tactic. If it wasn't blowin' so much today I might give her a try.......

BTW, when the boat flew outta view just before it lost signal & reappeared, it cut 2 fishing lines of the folks that were fishing just outta view

They wanted to see another run, but I didn't want to fry a wet ESC on its first day out....

No *!***!***!***!** huh, ain't my first rodeo..... Actually the servo horn stripped out. I noticed it during my pre flight check at the park today. Needless to say the mm didn't get wet, but my villain on 4s did

Just received most of my parts and had a question about antennas. My Ul-1 does not have an antenna and I never really thought about it until I saw some boat pics with antennas. I have a tactic 2.4 transmitter/receiver system. Do I need one? I so any ideas on what to buy? How do I hook one up?

The antenna is inside the Tactic rx, no need for any antenna. Just for your info, most 2.4 Ghz system uses the last inch or so the co-axial cable as their real antenna, so there is really no good/effective way to hook or extend an existing 2.4 Ghz rx antenna even though if it is equipped with an external one such as the Futaba or Spektrum ( two antenna in the Spektrum) system.

                              tlandaur,

Thanks for info on the lame radio question. Figured something like that was going on but I was not sure.
I also wanted to ask what 5s2p batteries do you run in the mean machine? Maybe I am trying to fit too large/heavy packs, but I can't seem to find any low enough to fit in the sides. I have been looking at running (2) 4500 mah batteries. I bought some Dinogy 4S 6000mah that fit perfectly (thanks for the recommendation), but want to eventually want to run 5s. I hope the 6000's are not too heavy, but looking at the weight I see they are actually lighter than the cheaper 5000mah turnigy batteries a lot of people run. I purchased a Neu 1515 2200kv for these setups.

I never ran mine with any 5s batteries, I run 4s2p with a Neu 1515 1y, M 445 prop. I am not familiar with the dimension that is typically associated with 5s. I believe the Dinogy 6000mah 4s will be fine, it is just longer than my 5000mah, you can adjust the COG acordingly.
                                Good luck!
