Stuffing tubes - water cooled and oiler 6S Hydro, overkill?

Guys, I've seen some beautiful water cooled stuffing tubes and built in oilers here - wondering if these are suggested/necessary /overkill for a 1527 6S 1Y hydro setup? Thank you very much

Totally not required. I've been building winning FE racers for decades and have never used a cooled stuffing tube or an oiler. My drives exceed the life of the boats, I have never replaced a stuffing tube due to wear. IME adding parts which are not needed reduces boat reliability.

That said, I do admire well-done engineering in boats and if someone really wants to do this I say go for it.

Oilers are pretty cool but not necessary. I'd keep it simple, the less stuff to rattle and come loose near the stuffing tube/flex, the better

I would love to see what you come up with, having fun with things like that in a build is half the fun. If your just sport running why not?
