Large (ish) MTB motor, prop and battery advice

    Hi,

This is my first post on OSE, so hi :)

I have my first boat, a second hand 38" fibreglass hull MTB. I have been flying RC for a few years and fancied a bit of a change, got a 1/10 SCT too.

I'd be greatful if someone could point me in the direction of some advice about motor, prop and power combinations. I've searched Google and a number of forums and have found this one the most helpful, hence my first post :)

Using the calculators I've come to the conclusion maybe incorrectly that the majority of info availble is for fast racing type boats. I have a few spare motors, escs and 3s lipos etc.

What I would like to know is can I use any of my existing kit to replace the aging and incomplete brushed powertrain in the boat. I would like a good turn of speed but not after anything silly I guess about 25 kph would be about right/fun (take advice on this as I'm really unsure what would suit the size and hull type?)

    I have the following brushless motors with matching esc rated for 3c lipo;

    Inrunner Kms Quantum 380/14 B'Less Motor with a 2961KV
    Outrunner 3536 910Kv
    Outrunner 2815 1050kv

The boat has a single prop.

Would any of these be suitable?

Using the calc it looks like the inrunner would be the the best match on a 35mm 1:4 prop?
Is 3s lipo up to the job?
    Should I use a 3 bladed prop?

What else should I take into consideration. Thanks for your help in advance.

    Welcome to the Forums.
The 2815 outrunner would be a bit small in the power department.
The 3536 910 kv would be your best bet on 3s A 35mm 3 blade 'scale' prop would be the one to go for.

    Some pictures would be nice.

    Cheers.
    Paul.
