What kind of cat do you have? An rc version of your real boat is a great idea, you could spend. Upwards of 10g's and then some depending how far you want to go. It would have a serious cool factor though. Are you talking about going from full cad drawings of your hull and doing a replica or reworking something out on the market to get it close enough? I am just very curious and this may very well be none of my business but I had to ask. It would be an incredible build to see here.:-)Comment

Something you designed or something you bought? If it is a hull you bought the manufacturer may not be thrilled with the idea of somebody else producing their designs. If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

It doesn't matter as long as he's just making one for himself. Copying it and mass producing is when they would have a problem. Let's not get into a discussion on this lol. I've seen a few threads go bad because of it.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

Sorry but it's clear from the beginning he's asking for a r/c model. If you can give us more details of your boat(dimensions) would be helpfull and btw there are lot of good c.f cats in the market ..take a look at Kevin Bradley site.I work with different kind of molds and can assure you that only one copy independantly of what kind of mold making wouldn't pay off the investment .GillGO FAST AND TURN RIGHT !

I would agree if he were making one for himself. However, he's not. He wants to pay someone to make one for him. It doesn't really matter if you make 1 or 100. The infringement occurs when someone profits/charges money for a direct copy of someone else's work. Unless someone does it for him for free, he should get permission from the OEM.Comment

OP: Talk to the original manufacturer. They could make you a carbon copy cheaper and easier than anyone else.Comment

and there are a few people who are interested in one..so its not a direct copy..i have made some changes besides width that might not change the deck appearance besides width..but the bottom of hull was an experiment..which I think made big improvements..the weight I have added with my prototype and stuff is over a pound now..and that makes a difference in p limited..may or may not have new one for nats..but my prototype will be ran for sure if not..and I agree with fella..there are a lot of downright copies of hulls out there..yes..i started with a manufactures hull..but made quite a few changes..i guess I will take my chance if a manufacturer says its a copyright infringement..and yes grs..there are a lot of good hulls out there but I feel this is what I want to do..thx for input guys..and I always value it..Comment
