The Dynamite 1800kv seems to be the ticket lately. It's the "stock" motor from Proboat now. The newer AQ UL-1 motors are not up to snuff.
You can use the 1500 kv Proboat motor and get reasonable performance, but expect to get your butt kicked in a competitive format. -

Could you use a prop with much more pitch to get similar results as the UL-1 motor ?.NAMBA20...Caterpillar UL-1, P-Spec OM29, P-Mono DF33, P-Spec JAE, Aussie 33" Hydro-LSH, Sprintcat CC2028 on 8s, PT SS45 Q Hydro, PS295 UL-1 power, OSE Brothers Outlaw QMono 4-sale, Rio 51z CC2028 on 8sComment

Regarding your question Jim, I am not confident 1500kv is enough RPM to keep up with an 1800 or 2030. You would need to run a prop in the 48-50mm area to get any speed. That would be a huge prop for that boat.
However, I have successfully campaigned an AquaCraft 1800 in my stealth for more than a year. The boat runs very well with the 1800kv.
This is a video from nearly a year ago, first race of the season. It's the Orange hull that goes way wide at the start, but still jumps LOL

I'm not sure how other's have faired, but my Stealth has some issues getting up on a plane from a stand-still... just wouldn't do it last year.
I need to verify that the ESC Startup power was set appropriately to provide the "burst" at startup to jump it out of the water.
That was running the AQ2030 with a Hydra 240 ESC and a 440/3. This is the same setup that I was running in 2012 at the Nats and doing fairly well with. I think it's also the same basic setup that Tyler is running with his. He told me he has to hand-launch the boat.
I've been thinking that a bit more prop and a lower KV, more torque, setup might work well with this hull, which IS fairly heavy to start with.
Incidentally, the most recent Dynamite 1800KV (Pro Boat) motors are QUITE CAPABLE pieces... the motor leads have been upgraded to 12-awg, and there have been some other design updates that increase it's efficiency and power. The 1500 has been updated similarly. Inline update, so same part numbers, etc.Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA
