    how much?

Im thinking about selling my cheetah to help thin my rc collection down a little. How much is it worth? Or shoukd I say what wouid be a good price to list it at? I havent decided yet for sure if I want to sell it, so I didnt put this in the for sale section. Please forgive me if its an issue, im just trying to see if its worth me selling it or something else.

    Heres what I would include

    carbon fiber hull
1717 castle 1650kv setup to run on 6s
    fightercat 101 esc
    ose waterproof high tq servo
    Hobbywing ubec
    new flex shaft
    octura collet
    fightercat strudder setup
    castle 6.5mm bullet connectors
the whole thing complete minus radio and receiver. Its ready to go. Prop included. How much is a fair price?

Isn't the hull alone like $350? Its not exactly a heavily used boat right, judging from the date of the build thread it couldn't have seen much use.

I would total up what you paid for everything in parts, its one of the nicest looking cheetahs out there so asking for what you put into it and then some seems fair. People will low ball you all day on the forum to get a hold of it, I have learned that making a sale thread and keeping firm it might take some time but you'll eventually meet the right person for the boat. I would list it for what you think and see what happens to avoid 25$ offers on this nicely built boat.

Good advice. Honestly I thought we were all adults here so I figured I would get mature answer to my question and kind of give me an idea of what I should try to get for it....instead I get $25. I guess theres always going to be a cliwn in every crowd. Ill add up what I got in it tonight and try to come up with something fair.

I think second hand stuff is generally worth about half what you paid for it as long as it is in good condition.
I am pretty sure that if you asked for more than it cost you, anyone interested would go to a pro builder instead and get a new boat with new parts, personalised for themselves.

Haha mature answers??? At least I'm not the only one, I asked about a strut mount and I get my boat us over powered, not what I asked.

But, I'd say depending how good it is you could get close to retail maybe 75% of it.

I always agree on the 50% or so rule but in this case you cant buy a boat done like this. I do not proclaim to be a professional, but im not an amateur by any means.

I can't tell you what your boat is worth...I'm not that familiar with it, but I'm sure it's nice.
I can tell you though, that the internet consists of about 95% people who really don't know what they're talking about and just regurgitate information they have read from other posters, and 5% that are continually learning from experience. NativePaul is one of the 5% that really has the experience to know what he's talking about. I've been around this board for a decent amount of time, I've seen a number of people come and go, and Paul is probably one of the sharpest, most experienced guys I've seen on this board. However, your boat is really "worth" whatever it's worth to you. Nobody can tell you what your boat's worth. Put it up for a price that you feel comfortable selling it for and see what happens. If it doesn't sell for what it's worth TO YOU, don't sell it!

Also, don't take the comment about buying from a pro builder personally. There is a HUGE difference between buying a boat from someone in the for sale section and buying from someone that has a reputation. There are definitely pro builders that do crappy work, but a simple search will typically expose this and you can know what to expect. It's the wild west when it comes to buying used boats on a forum though. A lot of people just pass on their junk, or builds that didn't work out as they hoped they would. It's not your fault, but unfortunately the people that do pass on their crap have an effect on everyone else.

Good advice keith, thanks. You are right about people speaking about something and have no clue what they are talking about. Happens all the time. Im gonna figure up what I have in it and price it for a fair price (If I decide to let it go). Im running out of room and I want yo build a fantasm and the cheetah money can get me started on it.

Fantasm, cool you're jumping in with both feet now! That's a badass boat, I've been looking at doing one of those too. Your Cheetah is a first class build, to anybody that knows what they're lookin' at. You shouldn't have any problem getting top dollar for it!

Thanks bud. My cheetah has more speed left in it im sure too. I havent made any adjustments with the strut and I tried only one prop on it lol. I keep moving on to the next thing before I completely finish tuning each build. I just enjoy buikding them more than anything else.
