MRP Miss Bud MSC wiring? Not getting high speed from switch

Plugged in the new NiMh batteries today and cannot get this thing in high speed, touched each microswitch and all is well, even did some resistance reading on the microswitches and again, all seemed well.

I think she may be wired up wrong, but all looks factory??? I cannot find anything in my manual or online as far as wring goes for this. I would really like to simply enjoy this stock boat in my pond, but can't even get her up on plane.

Maybe a recommendation on a cheap ESC I can use without burning her to the ground???

Any ideas guys? Thanks in advance!!!

These units ran on two 6 cell packs.
In the first speed the motor see's only 6 cells in series.
In the second speed the motor see's 12 cells in series.

They were not very fast with the NiMh anyway with that small plastic prop. How do you know it is not getting into high gear ??

          Thanks guys!

It's not going into high gear, dry running briefly and depressed the high speed micro switches, they both click and showing continuity between posts when they do. I took some pics with my phone, but can't get them posted. I will post them later when I can get on my laptop.

Those boats never really did get on plane stock out of the box. Most had to put different motors and speed controlls to get them to work. On the stock set up you have to get the prop as deep as possible and then toss the boat and then maybe it would go on step.

Thanks Mark! I got the speed control working in both speeds and took it out to the pond on 3300mah packs as far forward as they would go and the damn thing pushed water, didn't know if I maybe got some weak packs. Was thinking about tossing a different prop on, but from what you say, I dunno if it'll help

I think when these boats were new an RC boat that moved and you could steer on the water was all looking good

So now you know that too :)

Take out the old brushed system and make up a motor mount to use the same holes in the boat and put a brushless system in it (brushless you will get more power and less weight in the same place)

You can keep the old parts and put it back together the original way some day

I feel ya, I really didn't want to toss a ton of $$ at this boat just to get her on plane, but looks as if I will need to for any results... May sell her off and go get something already setup

Can you post a picture of the boat. I'm interested in seeing the boat and how it's supposed to work!
