    Interesting Mono Hull on E-Bay - R-Hobbies??

I was dinking around on E-Bay this morning and came across "R-Hobbies". They have an interesting 26" Mono hull, in both a standard and self-righting version.

I may be mistaken, but it looks an AWFULLY LOT like the old Maus Bullet hull! It says it's epoxy (as apposed to polyester), and the weight really isn't horrible. Might be an interesting N2 Option...

They make very nice sharp hulls of the ones I've had in my hands. The 32" single drive cat, the Arowana, all had very nice finish but, very thin. Worth a go at the low prices they ask for them.

I've also had and sold the larger cat for twin drive. Nice sharp edges but, needing reinforcement. The Arrowana had cupping on the bottom.

It is possible they copied a Maus hull.

R2 actually tried to copy the DF Explorer cat. No idea of it's quality but, it's dirt cheap.

Darin as you say it does look very much like a Maus Bullet, a friend has the non self righting version but I only saw it run very slowly as he had problems with his electrics. I have the r2 stepped mono which is also epoxy glass, as Ray has said they are very thin indeed & I found they split very easy around the square corners of the hatch opening in the deck of the stepped mono. So assume most of their stuff is built in a similar way, I think most of their hulls are probably copies as I believe the stepped mono that I have is made from an Etti Saber. Their hulls are cheap though.

Good info on R2 hobbies, any suggestions on the R2 Sober twinn hull ?. I tried to make a deal with a dude in blackfoot last fall for his new sober build.

Well, some people have good success with their hulls:

They are actually the Tacon 3674 1300kv motors, not Leopard; pair of $45 motors on sale.
