Im setting up a fresh new hull for a friend and am looking for some motor mounts. Its the 34 inch King of shaves and has no mounts in it. We are running a pair of 2860 Leopard motors in the sponsons. He got the adjustable ones from OSE but are too wide for the sponsons so Im thinking we need the angle bracket style? Am I on the right track here or are there other options Im not seeing?
King of shaves motor mounts

Most people make carbon fiber brackets to mount the motors. Look in the boat build section at just about any twin cat set up. That should give you a good idea. All the higher end builds use this format. Look at the angles they are installed in, both port to starboard and vertical. They stiffen things up to. You likely could use the "angle" bracket kind but look at the builds and decide for yourself. A lot of other questions will likely be answered there to if your doing a twin build and are not familiar with this mounting option. 2860 leopards are smaller than I have seen used before in this type of build. Usually they are 36mm diameter or even larger. My not seeing them used doesn't count for much mind you. What kv is the motor and what cell count for lipos will you be using? -
Hi :-) . I was checking out the rtr version of the kos c1 at my local hobbytown awhile back. That was a pretty sweet boat. Since it was a factory twin setup, have you contacted venom to see what they offer for parts motor mounts, props, hatches, hardware etc ? ...Comment

As said, if you can make your own CF mount plate for your 28xx series motor , it would be ideal. Its difficult to find pre-made mount that's narrow enough for the hull.
Nor sure if Venom still carries the old parts, it will be under www.atomikrc.com anyway.Too many boats, not enough time...Comment

Well after we dug around a bit we found nothing he liked that would look good so he ordered a set of the newer style clamp mounts. The motors seem to fit in the old mounts good I just dont want to try and take them out of the hull to transfer them to the new hull. The motors are 2860 Leopards little things and think he said he wants to run 2 4 cell packs with them on the stock Venom 60 amp escs. Ive read that the escs can handle 4 cells and Ive read that they shouldnt be run on 4 cells. Its his call and choice and Im just building it for him. He bought a used ready to run KOS and it wasnt as nice as he would have liked so he bought a fresh new hull and wants all the hardware and drive transfered. I personally think 4 will be too much for the escs and hull. Its a bitty little boat and just dont see it handle it.Comment
