    cheap 200A brushless esc

not sure how good it would be but as bad as CC hydras are getting this might be ok, I had great luck with the 30A mystery esc in my hydromite.
$52 shipped might be worth a shot
The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.

Generally you can just spray your electronics with this stuff and it will be water "resistant":

Even if a person can use this esc to replace a 120 amp unit it's a heck of a good deal.

The product may be worth the price but watch out for the sellers feedback rating. I know some people are idiots on ebay but I still stickk with sellers over 98%

I don't know if it's the same product, but it is the same idea. Coat your electronics with this stuff and you should be safe from the usual moisture that gets in.

obrien was told by CC that they have some kind of silicone sealant on their esc they are water proof to 100 feet fresh or salt water, but if you try to opperate the unit while submerged it will be toast.

That looks just like the hi-model unit with different colored shrink wrap

I have been using a 3m product. It's just refered to as a dry silicon. This may be more like wat CC uses.

il prob be baned for this. but i have that wery contoller and it works great. it even out preformed my hydra 240. as the hydra crashed and burned on elite 5c 4800. on a 9XL. X640 in my drifter S and this cheap crappy mystery controller still runs with the exsact same setup.

it is not a spray they use, hopefully obrien will chime in here as he is the one who talked to them.

Thanks for the report Video200, I might try one out for grins

I have the 80 amp one and waiting for a 100 amp (22$ shipped!!!), I made a cooling plate for the 80 amp with a 3mm aluminium sheet and a piece of 6mm plexiglass in witch I routed the water circuit 3 or 4 mm deep, the cooling plate is glued to the ESC with silicon and the rest of the ESC is waterproofed with the same silicon.
Some people said the silicon would attack the PCB or some components, but some ESC's on the market are made the same way(Graupner 80 amp brushed ESC), certainly different type of silicon used but... it worked for me! Some of the new polymer glue available on the market can do it as well.
BTW, I pulled 95 amp burst from my 80 amp one!!!

The problems I see using conformal coating (I work for the US company that makes the top automatic dispensing system for conformal coating and been in this business during several years)...
                              - difficult to repair if needed
                              - difficult to apply in narrow areas (multi layer ESC) knowing that heat exchange surfaces (top side of FET's) should not be coated!!!
                              - many type of coating material on the market that are mostly not good enough for what we (in FE) expect, even if several layers applied!

                              Hope this help.
