    drying out? :-)

ran my new boat today and did about 6 laps and came back with some water in it. this is my first brushless boat after running nitro for quite some time. my question pertains to what the procedure is after. I basically flushed the motor with motor spray and blew I out with compressed air about 5 times . reoiled the bearings and set it out in the sun. the speedo looks pretty sealed so I was afraid if I used the compressor it might force water in there. any advice would be greatly appreciated. carl

First and foremost find out where the water got in. Corrosion X is good to stop any corrosion from forming. How much water was in hull?

about a 1/4 cup. im gonna track it down but at the moment im more concerned about keeping the electronics good. the speedo is shrunkwrapped and sealed on the ends. receiver stayed dry cuz it was elevated , same with servo.

I've sunk my boat recently and was told to use the Corrosion X and the key I was told was to not put power to electronics until everything was completely dry. That's not a lot of water so doesn't sound to bad. Good luck Jeff

Put ESC and RX in a bag of rice for a few days before you power them on, to absorb any water that may have splashed into the RX or got past the seals in the ESC.

Sometimes I put my reciever in a balloon and rubber band the balloon to keep water out of it. I did it in my mini mono.
