    Power supply?

    What's out there that's great?

I bought an 24v1200watt Efuel and I hate it.

The one 30amp circuit is fine but the other 3 are only 10 amps each. Meaning that if you crest 4amp charge rate on a (2)4s packs it resets itself without any warning or indication. Pretty disappointing. Yeah I know, supposed to do the math before you buy but it should have worked. It's going back.

What else is out there though? Looking to run 4 chargers with 2 ports each at 7 amps plus regularly. So maybe 1000watts continuous plus or minus.

    I personally run a MeanWell 24V power Supply. It's a tank.

Check out Progressive RC (http://www.progressiverc.com/power-s...power-supplies). I've had great dealing with them

If you're comfortable with modifying server supplies look at this, http://www.rchelination.com/setting-...-power-supply/.

            Hey Terry,

I picked up one of the Thunder Power units from Larry's awhile back... So Far I like it. I ran into the same issue that you have when I was shopping around. Most company's are only allowing ONE high power output and the rest of the outputs are limited in power.

Buy top-quality USA assembled batteries for RC Hobbies, Air, FPV, UAVs, Drones, Robotics, eVTOLs from ThunderPowerRC.com

I can't find it in writing, but I don't think they are limiting the output on either of the ports (otherwise, I wouldn't have bought it). For some reason, I think it's written on the box but not in the specs on thunder power's website.

            Later,

I want a "one ring to rule them all" kind of thing. I have 2 Bulldogs at 30 and 45 amps at 12volts now but I don't think they'll be able to keep up with me. I've already over amped those.

Ray had the TP power supply out in Phoenix and swears by it.

This one is a ton of dough but I should be able to arch weld on the side with it for yet a third job.

I could use it to hold down my canopy too. Weighs in at a sultry 10 pounds.

Hey, I was just thinking... Can you piggyback off of the 3 - 10amp outputs and run one charger (one 30amp output)? I am not an EE type of guy, but I wonder if that would work. I would save you buying another PS.

Little overkill don't you think? Especially for the cost?

                  Charging four 6S(22.2volts) packs at 5amps = 444 watts

Unless your planning on charging above 1C

Be careful where you plug this in as it requires a circuit that can supply 20 amps at 120 volts under full load.

I charge over 1C. Plus, they charge at higher voltage than nominal. So a 6s is more like 25.2 charging.

I have to charge for both Ty and myself so...

I just now went and looked at my NATS charging load. I can handle it. Still not sure about this supply though. Worse day for me will be Saturday. 5 boats to chase but I have 3 sets of batteries for 1/8 scale so I should have time to get the last round charged.

The nasty part of charging for my season will be club races. Right now I'm trying to chase 7 boats between me and Ty. That's 14 ports. Might not be possible. Gonna have to figure out what's sane and go from there. OR buy a bushel basket of cells from Mojo. Ugh. More freak'n batteries. Threw up in my mouth a bit there.

With the proper adapter you can charge 2X 2S packs (as a 4S pack) on one port... Just a thought

Your going to need another charger too!!!!

I've built 6 or 7 of these for me and others. Buy 3 for $90, free shipping, wire them up (I have a link) and then you take as many as you need to the pond on any given day. They've been 100% reliable.

I wire a pair of 4 mm connectors so I can run 2 chargers off of 1 PS if needed, and I also have a junction block that I can then run 3 chargers (1210I singles) if need be. I only needed 2 of these for our race last weekend, and I easily managed charging for 5 classes each day.

They're relatively light weight and easy to pack, too.

I would second that. I got a nice compact 75A unit from him and couldn't be happier. Works very well.

Both might be true. I suppose I could charge in parallel and balance on NOT race days.
