*Note: To download the NMEA file to your computer for history mapping, you will need a standard RS-232 cable - not included. All other information can be viewed via the integrated LCD and menu.

So I painfully watched the whole Youtube video. it works but seems like a pain in the butt to operate. (typical badly designed interface)

I bought one from HK and it was dead on arrival. They did at least give me store credit for the defective item. I'd pass on it!

a lot of people have good results with Garmin Foretrex 101, and the Garmin Etrex 10. They can be found cheaply on eBay
                Eageltree is another option
                also this model

I used that unit most of last season. Great for top speeds, the computer interface is a pain and I haven't bothered with it. Picks up satellites quick and work great for checking highest speed. Nice looking unit to and small enough for any boat. Hobby king stuff either works or your screwed. I got lucky though I haven't heard much negative stuff about them yet. In the same order with a few other things totalling $90 out the door they billed my card 6 times leaving me out $500. No transactions showed up on there end. Customer service was appalling considering they had almost $500 of money there system stole. I had to prove to them with transaction numbers that didn't exist. Email returns showed they were doing nothing on there end a week later. Filed an escalated claim with paypal x 5 once I realized they didn't care. Without paypal my money would have been gone. I haven't gone back for a bargain since. If you get something that doesn't work you may as well cut your losses and shop elsewhere. Biggest jokers I have ever seen! Good gps though:) sorry, couldn't stop the rant, still makes me mad 8 months later! I was lucky with all previous orders though.

I have a rechargeable Garmin. Its really small and waterproof. I thought about getting one of those hobby king ones but I hate ordering from hobby king. Last thing I ordered took about 3 months to come in. Here's my little Garmin

I compared these three units in the car one day. The Quanum worked okay, but didn't have the refresh rate the others have. So it wouldn't accurately read max speed during a short run, which is what I require for SAW testing. The Garmin of course works great, but the Voltron is awesome, especially for it's small size.

Not sealed but fit in a pill bottle with a 138mah 2s lipo. Input voltage is 4.8-12V.
