Yes, to much motor for that boat. The Neu 1527 takes a special motor mount and with that in mind I would think there would be some real clearance issues along with alot more weight. I would also think you would have some considerable torque issues to deal with. We run Leo 4074 2000-2200kv with T180 esc on 6S and they scream. Also the 1515 2200kv works, guy has them on for sale forum $100 shipped.... DJ

PS: those motors work good on 4S also. The Leo 3674 or compatable Neu 36.5mm motor would work too....

I thought that 4074 2200kv was only good for 4s not 6s. I've got a new leo 4074 2200kv on ebay that I took out. Which motor out there that will take me to 90 mph and not be too much weight?

No motor will get the BJ to 90 mph. The hull design is not simply capable of that speed with any reliability. And a crash at 70+ will spell the destruction of the hull anyway. If you want that high speed, go with a high-speed-capable hull, not an RTR.

Totally agree with Fluid ! that hull will not handle those kind of speeds. We have stripped the inside and lined it with Carbon Fiber just to run it in the mid to upper 60's. Anything faster than that and it blows over...if you want 90 mph get ready to spend some $$$....we have found breaking 70mph takes alot...one good choice we are running is the DF explorer, if I remember right we have gotten upper 70's with it on a Leo 4074 2200kv or a Leo 4082 2200kv on 6S...you will need High c rated lipos to do this. We have been using the dinogy and nanotechs 65-130c lipos....DJ

people are struggling to get that hull running nice with stock powerplant ,but that doesn't hold you back reaching for a solid 90 mph
i guess you think all handling problems will disappear when going into warp speed?

90-100mph doesn't come cheap that's for sure! I'd keep the blackjack and make it stable at 50mph, so its fun to drive around. But if all out speed is what you're after you'll need a boat that's purpose built. Simply strapping more power to a hull is easy, having survive a blow over is a whole other story.

Though it might be fun to watch. Better film it, however... it'll happen fast!

hahaha....you have been warned....I personally prefer the spektrum, because of the marine specific w/p rcvrs that we have many times in our efforts at breaking 70mph, now working on 80mph and not with a BJ29 !!! The BJ29 is a nice rtr boat but once you break 60mph with it, things start happening that are almost uncontrollable and unless you have some true experience, its dangerous....I also need a 1527 for my GP400...
