    Need advice on new hardware

I'm putting together an old boat (26'' Catamaran). I need a new strut/flex shaft for sure and possibly a new rudder. I will be running a Leopard (4074 1700kv-on 6s).

I found that my old strut bushings just wouldn't last very long, I would say after 6 hard runs I started getting lots of slop in the strut. I buy all of my props S+B so I'm left to believe that my hardware just can't take that much power. My current strut is the (stock replacement for the BJ26ss).

I would like to make the jump to a .187 flex. but I'm unsure what strut would be best. Also what is better... a Lead Teflon bushing or a cross drilled brass strut bushing?

First question is why are you running so much power and 6s in such a small hull? An octura 0r hughey .150 on 4s and a 2200 motor would run all day with no issues. Your set up is just to harsh for such a small boat.

This Is my SAW boat...I have been running a Leopard 3674 1700kv on 6s in my BJ26 for a year or so now and im just after more mph! I might just keep the 4074 motor for my IM31 but I also need a strut setup that could be used for both boats. I just need a better system than the PB BJ26ss hardware...What is better Lead teflon or drilled brass?

I use lead teflon bearings in my 1/10 shovelnose hydro-- they are silky smooth. I can't really comment on the durability vs brass as I have not worn them out yet...
