electronic options for atomic arc hull 58in

looking to pick up an atomic hull from a friend just trying to figure out what i should do for electronics spoke with ose and the recommended the 5698 leopard
ill most likely be sticking with 6s but might do 8s what would you guys recommend for an esc? would a turnigy 180 cut it? im not looking to do any high speeds just
40-50

any other recommendations would be great

6s seems to me to be a rather low voltage choice for a hull this size. The setup would be rather inefficient. Most hulls that size are running 10s +, I am building a 50" P1 fountain scale type boat and will be using a 5692 size motor 820kv on 10s. I have seen big boats like yours running 6s, they used outrunners and we're getting a more scale like speed of 30-35 mph. Somebody with a lot more knowledge than me should chime in soon. I am newer to fe boats so my experience is limited. Good luck with the build, I hope you will post your progress here. We need more big mono hull builds happening on OSE!

You could use the sea king hv130a to leave some head room for higher volt cells down the line,
With the right kv motor and prop in the setup.

alot of great info in that thread so basically if i stick with the stock 3 blade and run this motor "het 1170 kv motor" i can get a setup slightly faster then stock and still reliable
exact type of info i was looking for only downside not sure i like the short run times on a 6s pack and not sure i really want to share 2 packs out of my
550 heli for the boat might have to think about downsizing what i want for a boat

ive got 60c 5000 6s packs after looking at other boats ive been interested in ig 5 min is avg or less

shows you how much ive looked into boats seems they run times are about like my heli lol

For the boat you could just use turnigy 30/40c packs for sport running,
And having some fun.
If you want some good high end packs but not to bad on price,

I've been using value hobby packs in my heli stuff and cars haven't had them
Long but the lhs and a few other people I know have been having good results for
Awhile now I'll also have some 3s packs from my car I can run together

Does leopard make an equivalent to the het 92? And I'm assuming a 180a turnigy will cut it just fine or is the sea king 130hv a better ESC? Sorry for all the questions just want make sure I get everything set up right the first time

OSE has a TP Power motor with a closer kv to the stock ARC motor than the Leopard.

The only problem you'll have is trying to find a coupler to adapt the motors 5mm output shaft to the ARC's 1/4" flex cable. All the couplers I can find for 1/4" flex cables only work with 6-8mm motor shafts.
Bringing us back to the HET motor which will probably cost you over $200 for the motor/water jacket/coupler. And you'll definitely have to use a higher capacity and c-rated 6s pack or pair of 3s packs.
If your budget is tight just give the stock outrunner a try. Then upgrade later. Your ARR version is already setup for it. The boat really is a blast in stock form. Its quick and light. Not rocket-ship fast, but fast enough to keep a smile on your face. And the stock out runner will run just fine on less expensive 5000mah 25-30c lipo/lipos. And if you can still save a bunch of $$$ if you pick up all your electronics from Hobbyking or even find them here at OSE second hand from the for sale forum.

I have no experience with the 130hv, but the turnigy/seaking 180 is my favorite esc. Its one of the best bang for your buck esc's out there in my opinion and has been very reliable for me I'm many of my boats on 4-6s.

If running the 5698 motor, the seaking 130hv will go up in smoke pretty quick imo. That motor can pull 250 amps on a spike I would get a swordfish 240. If anything get a tp 5850 motor they're 180 bucks with the cooling jacket.

You know that to motor is a lot more affordable I'm just looking for something that runs nice and reliable although I see you have yet to kill off a stock set up

As far as a coupler though my dads a tool and die maker so any of that stuffs not a problem
Hell I'd do it myself if I had access to his equipment

The seaking 130hv 5s-12s would let you run higher volt cells down the line,
If you wanted to.
Just do not over amp it with to much motor or prop and it should be fine.

I have a buddy the only runs sport running and he really likes the HW 130/180. He uses it in an AC 36" cat, and a 41" mono with 5692 1100Kv TP Power & similar Leopards on 8S 2P budget Zippy cells.

Tp4060 with a 130 and stock prop should get me to stock levels or slightly higher correct?

How do you figure say stock out runner transfer to x size in runner ? Ig its the motors options and sizing that the most confusing at this point
