Thanks on the paint job. It was only my second attempt at trying to get a high quality finish doing it myself. I learned a lot about painting and also that is a LOT of work to get a nice finish.

You say that you are running 66 MPH with your "P" Sport Hydro
Your video shows 4 laps in 61 sec. (= about 50 MPH)
Have you ever run it with a GPS in it??
My "P" Sport only runs at 63.2 MPH on the oval
78 Sec. for 6 laps running in about lane 6 to 10.

I'm a bit late, but thanks for the info in your posts #16 & #17.
The most I do to props is thinning & sharpening, de-tongueing, back cutting, reducing diameter, & of course balancing. I haven't ventured into the whole cupping & pitching arena yet.
We can't run such aggressive props here in Oz because are only allowed to run 1P packs, with a weight limit of 650 grams for a 4s pack. That restricts us to between 5000mah to 5800mah depending on the brand of packs.
Thanks again.

Larry, wait, I know why you are getting those numbers on my run, it's because on that run you can see the radio is cutting out and I am stalling a lot. It came to a dead stop a couple of times. You will see how the boat disappears in the video(because it stopped) and then starts going again because I was having radio problems. I am driving the purple one.Last edited by electric; 02-27-2014, 03:53 PM.Comment

My 63.2 mph is top speed on my run.
My 78 sec. was running really wide.
In your video I timed the boat that was in first place. ( 4 laps in 61 sec.) = 91.5 sec. for 6 laps.
Why are you pulling such high AMPS.
My N2 Sport pulls 190 AMP average.
My P only pulls about 140Amp average during a race.
Jim what timming is your ESC set at??

Larry,
I did a dump of my notes off of my iphone. My esc data is at home. I am not sure if I have it, but I bet I may have the dump from that run where I was getting 66.1mph and I can show you the esc readings. Why not share right...here are my notes from some testing I did with the boat. They are bit cryptic as I just talk into my iphone and have it do the typing. My last entry has me figuring out that the boat is going fast, but I did not have enough battery to complete the race. That is when I was running the 3300mah hyperions and then I went to the 4000mah dinogy's and started using the prop. What kind of prop are you running Larry? I was going to try on some ABC props, but I like what I am getting with this modified x455 and have kinda just settled in with it.
Gp335
Abc 1816
47 mph
Ran perfect
Andy Brown Prop 2 laps
48mph.
A little less lift
Third run
Top speed 60 miles an hour
Motor about 115
ESC cool
Running a 452 prop
Added weight
Choppy conditions
Fourth run
TopSpeed 58.5 x452 prop
Motor Temp 130
Choppy water
Handled great
Negative on it to trying to get the rear end off the water a little bit.
No data from ESC had to upgrade software
5th run Changed prop x455 Upgrade esc software required Two lap short run to record data and then measure temps Changed timing from 10 percent to 5 percent Top speed was 66.1 mph Handle great Motor temp was about 135. Warm Batteries were good Over 1 mile 6th run Batteries had only 25 to 20% left on five laps .8 miles Top speed was 57.5 mph Motor near 140
I realize the GPS is just a snap shot of a speed in a moment in time so the boat is going slower than that overall, but frankly I am not trying to say that I have the fasted oval lap boat around, just trying to figure out how to race against the guys in my club and I know I need to be touching that 65mph zone to even be in the race.Last edited by electric; 02-27-2014, 05:53 PM.Comment
