    removing a cooler once installed

    Hey Guys,

I need to remove a cooler from a faigo motor. The cooler is the nice aluminum type that Steve at OSE sells. What is the best way to get these things off once they are on?

    Thanks
    Mike

I would try heating the cooler with a hair dryer, then twist it.

In addition to warming things up, a shot of WD-40 might help too.

Yep I do all of the above and then set the back of the motor on a wood block and while gripping the cooler I use all of my weight and usually it slides right off. Once they have been on for a bit they are tight for sure.

Dish soap works nicely as well. Sometimes a few gentle taps with a hammer is all you need to get it moving.

Thanks for everyone's recommendations. I will give on or all of these a try tonight.
