I'm building a large mono hull with a gas engine. On the motor mount what will happen if i don't use rubber isolators and mount the engine with solid mounts right on the stringers

Hopefully Rick will show us some pics of his motor project that he's working on for the mono. I forget what motor he said it was, but I know its a watercooled 5 HP weedeater style motor, with a lightened , balanced flywheel.
As far as the shovel goes. It's hand built glass over wood and not something I want to run very often, so i'll keep it vintage simple. I am thinking of a 700 class Cordite with a 60v/50A Astroflight 207D on 4s pushing the 3/16 flex & Octura 1460 prop. Its primarily a shelf queen, so its all good. I wanna see what Rick cooks up to make he mono go ..... :-) .Comment

The boat will vibrate itself to death, rubber isolators are a MUST on larger IC engines. Also a solid mount on a large boat hull will create a tremendous amount of hull noise, monos are the worst in that regard because of the inside shape actually magnifies the sound.Mike Chirillo
