    AeroMarine Avenger 36 twin strut

Would the design of the Avenger 36 hull work well with a twin strut style setup on the outside sponsons? I have seen a twin setup with the struts and drives close to the middle of the hull.
    Quick drawing..sorry its late haha

Probably. A club member raced a similar but larger RC Boatworks cat with twins in the sponsons - it worked okay but he soon replaced it with a more conventional single drive boat.

Here is a build thread of a SprintCat 40/60, virtually the same hull. http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...highlight=twin

Thanks Fluid. I looked over the thread you posted. It would be very sketchy dumping double the money into this hull not knowing if it would work well, and not really proven on this twin setup... Im starting to wonder, I bet the motor mounting area has a lot to do with how well this hull would perform.

This guy used stingers, I wanted to run strut style, I believe these stinger's have an advantage with length.. Can you help?

The Avenger 36 has much better sponson access than the SC does. Struts do have major adjustment advantages but may require flood tubes. As far as length, use long brackets if you want more standoff. That said, the hull works so well as a single I'm not sure it would be worth the trouble except for the lack of prop walk and the cool factor.

The cool factor is a plus haha. I was thinking a speedmaster strut with more standoff. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...d=ros-spds-005 Using x2 of these struts with carbon or aluminum cut spacers between the strut bracket to get that extra length between.

That said, I would have absolutely no idea where a hot spot would be to mount the motors... No trying to sound smart, ha but In my mind it seems that the motors would need to be mounted very close to the rear of the hull to insure that the rear struts keep weight.

Its hard to say seeing that this has not been touched on very much, thats really what makes me want to try this!! If worst case, patch up the rear holes, go single as you stated Fluid!

Motor position only matters when it comes to the CG. Place them and the rest of the gear in the hull after mounting the struts and move them around so the CG is about 34 percent ahead of the transom. Don't forget the hatch! Placing the motors near the CG is pretty normal.
