    ESC Shrink Tubing

    Hello Everyone,

Wondering what is the best to use for shrinking speed controllers. I have a board that is about 1 1/4 wide, and I added a cooling plate to it also.

Would the battery shrink tube that Steve sells work OK?

    Thanks!

    Scotty

Personally I cannot see why battery shrink wouldn't work, it only has to hold the cooling plate on and protect it against accidental water splashing. I use the same type of shrink that you do wires with, you can buy it up over 2 inches in diameter and it doesn't shrink a lot lengthways which enables you to cut it a bit longer than the board and jam some silicone in the ends to make it water resistant, it is also a lot more pliable than the battery shrink imo.

      HI,
I ended up buying a bunch from Steve and found the 2 1/8" one to work best for me. I have a Phoenix 125 with a couple of cooling plates on it.. Here are some pics. My esc was 1 1/4" wide and 3/4" tall
      Hope that helps..

        Scotty,
Where are you located in NH?
If you're close maybe we can run together sometime. I have a waterfront home to run, so that wouldn't be a problem..
        Later,
        Tom
