    Tights on the genesis

    Thoughts on genesis

Hi I'm new to the boating world of rc and I was looking at the genesis rc boat from hobby king does anyone know how good of a boat it is and yes I do know I need my own electronics and stuff. But how fast is it? Is it reliable?and is it a good buy in general thanks!!!

It's not known for it's turning ability, as are most of the long skinny scale cats. They are good for straight line speed, have to slow down to get it turned around or they will barrel roll. Seen many videos of people bragging about the top speed, fine if you don't mind slowing to a near crawl to bring it back again.
It wasn't a genesis but a similar boat that I had for a very short while, the second day I ran it I must have retrieved it 10 times upside down, blazing fast in a straight line though. Put it up for sale that night! My Motley may be slower but at least it can finish a run!
It wasn't a Genesis but a very similar hull from a very expensive German manufacturer called H&M , hated that thing! Sad that it was outperformed by a RTR boat that costs about the same as the German hull alone!
The Genesis hull is OK, stock electronics are pretty much junk, most people upgrade the drive shaft.
It's more money up front but I think you'd be better off with a boat from Proboat or Aquacraft, they are good to go right out of the box, quality electronics that form the basis of "spec" racing and at least average hardware.
Pretty much a prop upgrade for more speed is all that required and your good to go.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Just noticed the Ontario, where about? Bunch of us running in Peterborough if that's anywhere near you.
