how does a 1717 compare to...

I have 2 t600 1400kv outrunners, I was wondering how these stacked up to a castle 1717 1580kv motor. both run on 6s. I was searching old threads and found a 50" expresscraft with twin 1717 and turnigy 180 esc's running 6s2p per side. was hitting 60mph which to me was plenty fast. I can get thehull local as they are not too far from my house.

lenny, the original thread is here

          http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...-Twin-Electric

the boat is 16.5 wide and weighs 9lbs empty.
he had it running very well on that setup in my opinion and id love to duplicate it. only reason i asked about hte t600 is i have 3 of them here.

FastVee likes using those outrunners a lot of the time,
Take a look at some of the builds he has done on hear.
Hears a new one and right up your alley.

But if I did that I'd think that having 20,000w of power would allow me to get the hull I'd really want, the 72" classone skater. But I can dream.

Actually it is still very readily available new - just in comes in black now. Check on eBay for 1717/XO-1 motors out of Mamba Monsters. Lots are available at under $175.
