Am I doing right? Advice please...

Well ,Am I doing right in having a Jollycat setup with twin Ammo 2300 kv, Twin Pro Boat BJ 26 ESCs, Graupner 40 mm carbon props. left and right ,28 cells or 6s Lipos, DSM reciever??? Today I got my new Radar gun to measure all of my r/cs speeds in MPH that is... I am wondering about how fast a Jollycat with twin drives can go with the setup Ive described before? Any help is appreciatred...THX in advance!

    Hi Hex
As one twin Jolly owner to another my advice would be to forget about the 28 cells and go lipo.
My original set up was with 2 X 12 cells and the boat would porpoise wildly right up to almost full speed and was uncontrolable.
I guess the fact that I had twin 8XLs made it 'slightly' overpowered as well.
I tried for months to tame it by moving the batteries all over the place and altering strut angles - nothing worked.
The weight of the batteries was just too much for this hull.
When I switched to 2 X 4S lipos it transformed the handling instantly.
The Jolly will still porpoise a bit at slow speed but if set up right it will drive through this and settle down at medium speed and then go like a rocket.
Mine has twin Ammo 2300 motors and X Power 100 ESCs, and twin K40 props so is very similar to what you are planning.
I presume when you say 6S lipo you mean 3S to each motor, which should be OK for the BJ ESCs as 4S each would probably be too much for them.
The Ammos draw 50 amps each on average on 4S with the K40 props according to my Eagle Tree.
I haven't recorded the top speed, but it's not slow !
    Graham.
