Timimg for my Neu 1527 1.5D, Hydra 240

    Hello All,
I am setting up my ESC while waiting for my TFL Ariane 2 to come back from the paint shop.

I am a nubie and not sure where to set the timing. (My 340 Demon likes 36 total at 3000 RPM)

I have a Castle Hydra 240 Ice ESC and Neu 1527 1.5 D motor in a 36 inch mono hull.

I did some searching and found that D winds like low timing I recall Fluid recommended 2 deg.

My setting options are 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20. I assume I should set it at 5 but do not really know.

    Please advise.

Also, should I mess with (throttle dead band)? Or the acceleration graph. Anything else?
The Castle link software is sweet and easy to use. I just do not know what I am doing

    Thanks again for your time,

Fluid is correct at 2 degrees for a "D". If your choices are 0 and 5, run 0, and stay on the safe side. 5 will work but create some heat. If your not running for records you won't see any difference.

It depends on how many cells you are running. If 4 cells the 1.5D can be run at 5 Deg. If you are running 6S, I would try 0 Deg first. If the motor comes in only warm, try upping it to 5 Deg. Don't mess with the dead band.

I'm pretty sure you can program a custom timing using the Castle Link, there's a check box or something on the timing screen, then just type in the number you want. I recall running that ESC at 4 degrees with that motor on 6S in my 37" DF 21 MkII mono. Octura X447 3-blade (detongued), great combo.

Yes, there is a custom timing option on the ICE 240. But you won't find a noticeable difference in performance between 1 and 5 in mormal use, at least in my limited testing I did not. At very high amp draws well over 200 amps then a small difference might be seen.
