Here is how I picked my name: total lack of imagination!!
Too many boats, not enough time...

I guess I've been using the same username for everything online since the first time I had to sign up for something. Makes it easier to remember.
Most everywhere I go I have the huskies with me, more people know my dogs than me.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

My first RC boat was a nitro shovelnose, Let's see if I can find a pic.

LOL I was asked where the **** I came up with mine... I work in the IT field and one of my first jobs was for the US Postal Service. For your user account ,they use the first 6 letters of your last name, your first initial, and your middle initial.... Well, I have no middle initial, so they use an X.... Kinda stuck...

My first Hot Rod as a 71 Buick Skyklark GS (grand sport)...

She was running a 70' .030 over 350 Buick block.
10.2:1 dished pistons for valve relief.
                68' 350 heads with 34cc combustion chambers & siamesed 2.02 / 178 steel valves.
Comp Cams 468H camshaft, double roller timing chain, lifters & pushrods.
Milodon high volume / high pressure external adjustable oil pump.
Steel skat crank, clevite bearings, cast rings & fel-pro gaskets.
Carter afb 675cfm 4 barrel fueled by external electric puel pump & fuel rail @ 6.75 psi.
Ported ramhorn manifolds, 3" stainless pipe & 17" Bluemaxx glass packs ported in front of the rear tires.
Power was pushed thru a stg. 2 350 trans with a hurst ratchet shifter to a 3:42 rear end for consistent 11 & 12 second ETA's....

                Man I loved that thing

Great thread. Tony - That vehicle does NOT look like it has enough flotation.....and where is the propeller on that thing?

I got name from the bowling alley after a couple 300 games. Unfortunately, I had to quit this year after 30+years.

I had a user name many moons ago. RCJUNKY because well......ahm am. After the red board crashed in maybe 2003 we all had to re-register so I changed it to T.S.Davis because I wanted people to know who the heck I was. Now I use that for all things forumy.

Tony is not the properchopper. That photo is however a proper chopper.

Back in the day, when I mostly built 'Scale' boats, most of them were powered with the 'Johnson 785' brushed motor. Cheap, reliable & fast enough.

                          http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...hp?albumid=320

One day when I turned up at our Boondall club with my latest pride & joy for a maiden, an old salt asked, "Is that another one of your 785 boats?"

When I finally learnt how to use a computer & signed up on a website, that was the only thing that came to mind for a Tag. It just stuck & I used it for everything.

Started out here as genestein and after way over powering a genesis and learning I love seeing my boats gliding as far out of the water as possible asked to have it changed to blowNover because I seem to do it a lot.

Back in the late 90's I got hooked on an online game called Ultima Online. Played that game for years lol and my favorite character I played was named Apophis. (Yea I'm a nerd) The name came from the show Stargate, it was on Showtime back then not syfy. The name stuck as my tag on every forum I joined since, makes it easy. Plus now that they named the earth killing asteroid after ME it makes it more fun!
