    yet more strange temps

Hey guys I am still working on my SV temps. I am running 8xl, hydra 120, 4S1P LiPo, and a 45mm prop. I have got temps down to managable but wondering what these temps mean... need to prop up or down?

    batterys- 100-110Degrees
    motor- 120-130degrees
    ESC- 150-170 degrees???

Any suggestions would be great. I have not yet tried any other props since temps have actually been coming down. I think they are at the lowest they are gonna run and these temps are after about a 6lap run at 60-70% of the time at full throttle. Thanks in advance.

You didn't say exactly what prop you are running BUT you may want to cut the tongue off the prop, back cut the prop some and even shave just a little diameter off the prop to get the temps down and not lose any speed. A little prop work can make a huge difference. I usually start with one mod at a time and note the difference.

In reality the temps actually look pretty good except for the ESC.

Hey thats a good idea Raydee, I am using just the carbon filled prop. Being that I may want to look into a sharpened and balanced prop and detongue it. The esc is my wonder. I can deal with the rest but maybe I need to shorten my runs a bit. I would say 6 laps is prolly about 4 minutes plus the couple straight shots I may do in between since we arent racing all the time..... boats flip so we stop and goof for a minute.

I am assuming you had everything water cooled, right?
I use an M445 and it works wonders... it was not sharpened
and unbalanced when I first tested it and no hot temps...
boat was going good as well.
        Now the prop work begins
        :)

Of course everything is watercooled and I have dremeled the pickup on rudder for more flow and am using large lines. Its a hydra 120 Steven.. Its a couple months old running 1.3 firmware or whatever

My guess the issue would start with running 60-70% throttle ive been told that tends to add amps causing heat hopefully someone will chime in and explain further Dave

that should read full throttle 60-70 percent of the run. I have to slow for corners and to go through wakes. So I do try to run W O most of the runs

Mike my first thought with your issue is the esc's settings. Every thing look avarage but esc temps. Hook it up to the link and double check to see if it's set to factory.

I agree with the other guys. try running for 1 minute at a time at full speed and check esc temps.
