i have tried searching google and here but cant seem to find what the advantage or disadvantage is to running a teflon liner in a stuffing tube is. I have 1/4" installed in my boat and realized i cant run the teflon liner so should i pull it for one i can or just run it as it?

from what i have learned here is that with or with out there was no benefit either way as far as performance.
i like to think it would help prolong ware and tear on the stuffing tube but then again keep it lubed.
