Question about repainting the hull

I am thinking of blueprinting my miss geico but want it to be painted afterwards. I have someone to match the color and paint it but it would be automotive car paint is that OK to use or is the paint for boats different?

Krylon works great for painting boats. Here is my guide for how I paint mine :)
