? what prop for Mean Machine?

Looking for suggestions for a prop to try on my mean machine cat.
It has a CC Baracuda 125 ESC and 9Xl motor with 4900 Mah packs in Parallel. they are 2) 4S1P 25C packs.
I tried a 440/3 blade prop and it wasn't to bad.. just wondering if there was a better prop to try? Thanx, Tom H .

X640 on 4s with atleast a 120 amp ESC. This setup should use around 90 amps.

I see you added some info. Are you running on 2s or 4s? You series or parallel your lipo's? The Fiegao 9xl motor runs well on 4s. It should run in the mid forties.

          Hi,
          I'm running 2) 4S1P packs in Parallel.. Am I correct when I say 4S2P ??
          I only have a 646 prop which I tried.
          Very fast !!
A little rought out there right now.
I'll throw the GPS in it a little later when the lake smooths out.
          Tom

las time i ran a 9XL hacker was when NIXX were main stream and i ran a x642 with a bit of modifications to it.
with lipo your should be able to run a 642 like no bodys business and should be able to prop up even more
keep the strut a bit hi for a run or two. if it cavitates then drop it until good.

by saying 2s2p i think he means 4s1p. 2s on a 9XL will do pretty much nuthing with a 440

Sorry for all the confusion ??
The packs say 4S1P 4900 Mah 25C on them and I have them wired in Parralel..
Do I only need one pack to run the boat? I would like the longer run times. I need at leat two minutes to run withthe Nitro guys..
              Thanx, Tom H >

For the 9XL with a X640 prop using around 90 amps on the 4900mah 25c, one pack will give you 2.5 minutes of run time and two in parallel will be 5 minutes.

Use a clock to time your run times or a LVC. Do not run them for more than 2.5 minutes on 4s1p and 5 minutes on 4s2p. That is 80% of your battery capacity. Keep an eye on your temps.

no you need both packs. your boat should run about the 3-4 min mark if you have it setup fast!!!
to get longer run times will require you to either prop down. or get two more batteries

Thanx guys for the info. I appreciate it !!
I wanted to keep both packs in the boat just to balance things out as I have a pack in each Sponson I guess you would say.
Here are some pics of the bats.
I'll get some pics of the boat soon.

the 440/3 is a pretty good prop for an offshore race(4 minute enduro)(I have a similer set-up) you will need to moniter your motor/pack temps if you 'prop up'

okay so you are running 4s2p!!
                        man it gets confusing.
4s1p ( says on pack) combined in parallel becomes 4s1p.
4s1p combined in series becomes 8s1p

The Mean Machine runs best if you raise the bottom of the strut up 1/4 to 3/16 of an inch above the bottom of the hull.

That's about where it is right now. Seems to run ok .. Maybe a little light in the nose..
Didn't get a chance to run it again tonight as the lake never really was smooth enough.. Thanx guys. :)
