Now the Ariane needs a ESC, help?

Thanks for all the help on my first build.

My Ariane 2 CF is coming along fine. I have the Neu 1527 1.5D motor and need an ESC. I want to run 6s reliably, and be in Q mono specs. This is a sport boat that I may race once in a while.

I do not want to buy a ESC with a bunch of features I will never need but I also don't want to get the cheapest to just get by. With that said here are my selections from OSE:

SeaKing 180, seems to be a staple in ESCs, good price ay $119.99.

SeaKing 130 HV, less amps but more cells, has HV designation. $180.00

Etti HV 120, don't know anything about this one at $169.00

Hydra Ice 200 HV, seems like the cream of the crop with a price to match at $299.99

BEC is not important as I will run a separate rx battery pack.

Please do not limit your suggestions to just these choices, these are just what I found on OSE that I thought would work.

As usual, thanks for your time and all your help,

I'm using a Swordfish 220 pro plus 6s max $129.95 and if you're using a sep. receiver batt. then use a Swordfish 200 pro plus 8s max $139.95 both of these are Data loggers but you can get them in reg. non data logger for about $20.00 cheaper each.

                Thanks Chris,
I looked under ESCs and they did not list it.
                Found it under Swordfish.

                thanks again,

In your initial post you said you want reliability. A SF220 will work but not for long with a 1527 motor. As Doby stated go with a Castle 240 ICE. I have both and had some issues with the SF220 on a D wind, for some unknown reason. Works with a Y but cuts out on a D? I think the SF is marginal with my 1520 1Y and do not trust it on my 1527 1Y. Your call but the extra money upfront on the Castle is well spent.

                      Thanks again guys,

Reliability is the name of the game here. Castle Hydra Ice 240 on the way!

Holy do-do, over $600 on a motor and ESC!!!! Not what I was originally planning. Hopefully the wife will not find out.

If she does I will never run this boat, I will be wearing it :)

                      Thanks again,

I've run the 1527/1.5D on 6S with the ICE240 and as long as timing is set very low - I used 2* - it ran very well in a Q Sport Hydro. Just be careful with prop choice, amp draw rises quickly with prop size/pitch. I sprayed the ESC thoroughly with CorrosionX before use, no ESC likes water.
