So I have a villain ex that I basically use for a rescue boat and a revolt 30. My question is what boat next I really like the Miss Geico but been considering buying a hull and painting that them on it. I have one 4s battery some 2s batteries so 4s is probably where I want to stay. I also had been looking at the Delta force monos around the 38 inch range just curious what people's opinions are considering money is tight not that I need the boat now just looking at options and will save for it.
What boat next?

Six of my club members would disagree. We race 33" Titan 40s on 4S no problem, speeds in the low 50s. But the OP's 38" mono would be too big. He can run his 4S and 2S packs in series for 6S which would work very well in the 38" DF if that's what he wants .

So what would a suitable range length wise be with a single motor 4s cat? I don't see how 32 inch is pushing it seeing how the Miss Geico is a 29 inch and my revolt around 32 inches but I'm not very knowledgeable in boats. I'm just wondering if there would be an advantage to putting a cat together rather than buying a rtr. Was looking at this https://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pr...prod=df-Cat-36
And painting the Miss Geico scheme or just get rtr but that hull the looks be a twin motor?miss geico 29,revolt 30,villain ex,summit,scte,8ightComment

I run an apparition cat (32") on 3674 and cc2200 motors on 4s it runs mid 50s I think cats run a little cooler and aired out than monos imo. The rtf cats are very thin and lightly lauded up as far as that question goes. Jay I run 2s2p putting about 29" in my max but in race trim 4s2p you are more than rightComment

As far as very thin and loaded up do you mean the hull materials are thinner and crack easier? I should probably say this I don't race just go to the local Lake. A guy at my work does race and would be fun to go up there And try racing With revolt and cat but being a beginner not sure if it's best to get the Miss Geico cat or my own cat on 4smiss geico 29,revolt 30,villain ex,summit,scte,8ightComment

To possibly clear things up there are 2 ways people are talking about running 4s here I think, one way is with a pair of 2s say 5000 mah wired in series giving you 4s 5000mah, the other way is a pair of 4s 5000mah packs wired in parallel for 4s but 10 000mah.
With a pair of 2s packs you are limited to boats in the 30" range and smaller motors, with a pair of 4s packs you can run a much bigger motor in a bigger hull since you have so much more capacity in the batteries.
Boat length people are talking about here is the bare hull length, no hardware included. Your Revolt is considered to be 30" long, few inches more if you include the hardware on the back.
I'd say build your own, not many boats that people on here haven't put together so you'll get lots of help from people who have built whatever you end up with. Probably already a build thread or two on what is commonly currently available.
Personally if I were in the market for a cat this size I'd look at the Mean Machine, I don't think it's the prettiest boat available but I know they run very well, that's whats more important to me personally. I don't go for the shelf queen look, all mine have the odd chip or stress crack. Stuff just happens when you are running with other boats.....If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

The DF cat is on the large side for 4S. It can be built as a single or as a twin. I concur, the MeanMachine is a far more capable cat with better handling than any of the scale cats. I have run mine on 4S and 6S and enjoy it a lot. A Castle 1515/1Y motor on 4S1P can give fine speeds and lots of fun relatively cheaply. Using Leopard or TP motors is a less costly option.
