Whats hot and what is not? ESC,motor, lipos

I finally got a temp gauge. Now I just need to understand whats hot and whats not.

For the ESC, whats a good running temp and whats too hot?

Motors, whats a good running temp and whats too hot?

Lipos, whats a good running temp and whats too hot?

Answers in Fahrenheit would be great.

    Thank you for your time,

"Running temperature" means different things to different folks. Are you logging the data or are you using an IR gun after untaping the hatch? If the latter, you have to be quick about it as parts cool off quickly, especially the ESC. No more than one minute from the boat hitting the bank is best. Anything over 140*F with the IR gun is probably too hot, I prefer to see things 130* or less. Lower is usually better although quality parts last fine. If datalogging the ESC internal temp, I've run my Castle ICE controller over 200* many many times without problems, other controllers may not be so accomodating.

      Thanks Fluid,
I am using a IR gun. I am setting up a new boat and want to get things right.

I also recently bought a Futaba 4PLS with telemetry, but to get it to work you must purchase the censors separately and be able to hook them up.

So for now the IR gun will have to do.

      Thanks again,
