Has anyone used the 1527 1D on 4s in a cat? Which prop did you use and what were your amps and speed?

whats the size of your cat
you can be able to run a 48-52 MM on a lose cat.
the 27 has about 40% more power then the 1521.. you will need to run 4s2p only. 1p is to risky for sure! -
Hoping to get someones setup results so I can compare it to the estimates from FeCalc and design some conservative setups and go up from there. Need more info for the estimating 4 pole motor setups in FeCalc. Wanting to start out with a setup running around 50 mph.Last edited by ReddyWatts; 07-11-2008, 09:08 PM.ReddyWatts fleet photo

I am starting out in a 34" supercat and testing this motor with some conservative setups.
FeCalc says X442, 100 amps, 30000 rpm and 50 mph. Is this close?
I think max effeciency for this motor is 114 amps.Last edited by ReddyWatts; 07-12-2008, 07:18 AM.ReddyWatts fleet photo

Sorry EyeKandy, thanks for your input. You always have some really good info! Sometimes I am thinking about what to say, when I should be listening.Last edited by ReddyWatts; 07-12-2008, 11:47 AM.ReddyWatts fleet photo

You could also use a 1521 without a problem.

Cool! If I am going to invest and test out a Neu motor, I want it to be the crazy fast one. lol
I know the supercat has limits and hope this motor will be versatile enough to run in different size hulls and equipment.Last edited by ReddyWatts; 07-12-2008, 10:31 AM.ReddyWatts fleet photo

I am going to set this hull up for straight line running, not oval.
When I shoot the juice to it, I want it to stand up and salute! lolLast edited by ReddyWatts; 07-12-2008, 06:36 PM.ReddyWatts fleet photo

Mad Mike on RRR is using this motor in a 35" sprint cat on 4S2P - he loves it.
See post - http://www.rumrunnerracing.com/fefor...ght=sprint+cat
In another thread he wrote "My cat does 64mph with the 450/2 and everything was good heat wise motor and speedo 110-115. The batteries were the warmest at 129 after the full mile race".
Cheers,

Scott thanks.
I liked his comment about running this motor in a mid size cat.
The Grunt on the 1527 is crazy, the boat sounds "ANGRY" when it's running, like it's pissed it's only on 4S....LOL This thing runs like a rabid cheetah on crack!!!!Last edited by ReddyWatts; 07-12-2008, 11:07 PM.ReddyWatts fleet photo
