    29" Cat motor/esc suggestions

    Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster!

I've played with nitro rc boats in the past (my old man builds them) but not for about 6 years.
I fly rc planes, multi rotors and helicopters, but looking to get back into boats.

I'm fairly good with working out motor combos and that for planes, but boats is a whole other story.

Basically, my old man has built me a 29" offshore cat, and I want to set it up with a single motor setup. I'm not racing, just having some fun, but like things to go reasonably quick.

What motor, esc, battery, prop combo would you recommend for something like this. I'm thinking 4s?

Thanks for any info in advance!

The most obvious combination is an RTR setup. An AquaCraft or ProBoat 1800 Kv motor and ESC running 4S/5000 mAh power is proven reliable, fast and inexpensive. That would be my choice.

Cool. Had a look on their websites and couldn't see much but i'm on my phone, so I'll have another look once on the PC.
What sort of size motor do you think? 36xx or 40xx?
