    Brushed 700

As you know I am still a fan of brushed motors. Yes we know that Noah used them to power the ark on Ni cells just like me.
I need another 700 for my bigger mono.
It had a 700 in it last year but for a variety of reasons that one let the smoke out.

I have drawn up a short list
    GRP6316 SPEED 700 BB TURBO 8.4V
    GRP6318 SPEED 700 RACE 9.6V

    Both are here

These are readily available and in my price bracke.
I am looking to spin a 42mm x1.4 prop and feed it with 12 cells.

Which motor would be the go?
    See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

This one is faster, more torque and cost less.

The Kiwi dollar has taken a dump so when you factor in the exchange rate and freight from the US to NZ the price is much the same.
However Reddy is correct in that the 700 SC from OSE is more powerful and can cope with greater ampage than the Graupner.
I guess it depends how fast you wanna go Simon !

Simon, as much as i like supporting Kim & Tony, the 700SC from OSE is THE mac daddy of 700s.
When i got mine in even with shipping it was only about $10 more than a graupner from HPM.

          Tyler.

This is for my larger "play boat" I am not looking for record speed nor performance. It is a bit of a "crowd pleaser" It throws a good rooster tail and "looks"fast despite it being one of the slower boats in my fleet.

I am after a 700 as oposed to cooking cordless drill motors for a laugh.
So which of the 2 graupner motors is the go for 12 cells, I can drop to 10 if I have to.

Like i said get the 700SC, spend the extra 10$ and be happy with a good motor.
If your burning out motors, thats just another reason to get a 700SC, being that there a super torquey(sp?) motor. I can pull a P230(48mm) prop comfortably in my oval master on 12 cells

Before I was converted to the SS1 and 700 SC motors I used a Graupner 700BB Turbo 8.4 in my ScatCat using 12 cells and X440 prop.
It performed fine until I got ambitious one day and tried an X642 and was met with clouds of smoke when I removed the hatch.
The motor had got so hot that it melted the plastic internal fan, even with brush and can water cooling.
If you really want to use the Graupner go with the 700BB Turbo but be real conservative with your choice of prop and check temps more often than I did !

Graham and Tyler, you have convinced me !
I'll go for the OSE 700SC.
Now I just need to find someone with a visa card or paypal account so I can order one.
Out of interest Tyler, how long did it take to get from the U.S to here.

                    Hi Simon

Delivery service from OSE is brilliant, usually about a week to NZ.
If you send me a PM I am happy to place an order for you using my credit card.
Payment in full on arrival, no worries.

                    Graham.

99.95% of all 700 brushed motors we run in boats are born of cordless drills

The 6318 9.6 volt is in my book a pretty wimpy motor and never did perform well and finally let out the lil jeanie , my dewalt motor is my fav so far and has taken some big props (prather 235) on 12 cells and runs great. can be had for 15$ plus shipping. If I bought another 700 it would be a sc 700 hands down... just my 2 cents. But ill run my dewalt till it smokes....

My last order took 6(postal mut have been a little slow) days to reach me.
These are business days im talking.

                            Really ??
All the cordless drills I have been given ( 13 in the last year ) have 550 / 600 size motors. Some of them smoke real quick and I have on that loves 12 cells on a 442 prop. I even gave one 16 cells and that was faaaast ..........for 30 seconds.

Anyway I have now made arrangements to get my hands on one of these legendary 700SC motors.

Once I have it I'll be back with the boat and a test report.
