OK, So I have this boat I am currently working on, and I have upgraded the motor and batteries but the boat is still only running about 15mph... I don't know what to do next because it seems like the boat is using some not so cheep parts. I am running 2 Gens acc high discharge Li-Po 5300mAh 7.4V batteries with a water cooled brushless 1800kv motor ( I also have a 2300kv motor but that ran slower) and a water cooled 60-amp speed control. So I don't know what I am doing wrong? Can you please help?
Need more speed for my RC boat.

Post some pictures of the boats with the batteries in place like you have been running it,
Also a couple pictures of the rear of the boat with the hardware.
And what TX&RX are you using ?
Also is the prop S&B yet ?Comment

GOPR0737.jpgGOPR0738.jpgGOPR0739.jpg I don't know why they came out so yellow? Disregard the rudder I had an accident with a turtle trying to come up for air when I was driving over. But I am replacing it with the exact same one because I like that one.Comment

I need a good over head picture of the batteries connected to esc like rtr the boat in the water,
And where the batteries are setting at in the hull to.Comment

Only 15 mph? Seems like a calibration issue. I would change the deans and the y's in the cooling line but that's not going to make it not run 15 if that's all it's doing now. A close up of the prop in some good lighting would be nice. How sharp are the leading edges.Comment

Make sure the coupler set screws are in the flat of the motor shaft an tight to,
And the flex shaft is tight in the coupler to.
Do you have any video's of it running yet the you could post on hear ?
It sounds like it is not getting on plan and running wet.
I agree some good pictures of the hardware setting and prop may show something,
It is a good thing it does not go over 15mph because those water line are all screwed up and backwards.
Because if it was running right it would burn up from lack of cooling.Last edited by lenny; 11-22-2013, 01:36 AM.Comment

Might be the ESC is running in reverse. Is your Spektrum's throttle set to reverse? If so try switching it to normal and swap any two motor leads. Re-calibrate your throttle....."There's nothing else I really want to do other than get up and build boats." - Mike FioreComment

If you swap motor leads you don't have to reverse your radio. I would also think if the prop was turning backwards the boat would not be moving forward.PT-45, 109mph, finally gave up after last bad crash
H&M 1/8 Miss Bud 73 mph
Chris Craft 16 mphComment

If the The motor leads are wrong and the throttle on the Spektrum is set to reverse it would run in to correct direction but the ESC is running in reverse mode. Reverse usually has a throttle limit. If that's what is happening here."There's nothing else I really want to do other than get up and build boats." - Mike FioreComment

If it's the old style non dynamite 60 amp esc it doesn't have reverse.
Pretty much positive from what I can see in the pics it's the old style....If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

ya, it doesn't have reverse, but when I get the rudder I will get you guys those pictures of it in the water and running. Thanks for you help so far guys! Could it possibly be that I need to replace my ESC?Comment

? ONLY IF THEY WORK

Did not know that..... so scratch that idea. Maybe just a simple throttle calibration.
