Is my set up still uptodate, hpr115 - neu 1521

Hi, bought my hpr 115 hull 2 years ago and it was always put on the back bench ran once and didn't run well, finally finishing it off over the next few weeks, I've been looking more and more at peoples builds and set ups, way back when i spec'd the boat having little dual fast cat experience i listened to a few people and spec'd NEU 1521 1Y on 6s lipo spinning 42-47mm props, (been out of this for 2 years so don't really know whats good and bad anymore)

first time i ran the boat it failed to plane, unsure exactly why this was, most people specified the esc - battery combo not set up correctly.

looking here, http://hpr06.speedtoy.com/setup.htm theres a few set ups with lehner 1950/7 running 6s reaching 80mph

the lehner 1950/7 is 350g 1791 rpm, 2 pole motor

    neu 1521 1Y is 480g 1577 rpm, 4 pole. motor.

i have either andy brown x447's de tounged or propshop 45 3 blades i had planned to run 6s hoping to reach 70-80mph without heating too many things up 3 years down the line, what has changed now that people are more experienced? should i have got the higher kv motor and also ran it on 6s? i have the as26-150bl controllers and have seen it run a 3080 lehner in a saw boat so they should handle most things.

1577kv on 6s should get on plane. I remember your old thread and always wondered what happened with the boat.

Sorry to dig up old things... wow my hpr is old now.

It's still never ran properly! i have been meaning too for ages and ages but work away at sea myself now and time isn't there never mind the knowledge

Being outside the industry Does anybody know anyone who has a HPR 115 in the uk / has the knowledge to set my HPR up for me?

i still have all the parts, genuine full running gear for a 115, Neu 1521-1Y motors, AS26-150bl Speedo's the boat has sat covered for the last few years in my bedroom and i feel sorry for it. i ran the boat once and couldnt break onto the plane running 6s and some propshop 47mm props. i also had some 45mm 3 blades i was gonna try but never bothered, about a year ago i bought some props from andy brown which one is still in its brown envelope, 447 s+b, tongue cut

I'd like to get this running, a nice set up not going for any world records, just something i could charge the batteries on a weekend and do a few laps with, getting to maybe 60mph? back in the day i actually think i was scared of blowing this thing up which is why i never really pursued it but..

Does anyone have any contacts in England that could assist me? or anybody in europe who would be good to get in contact with? I'm at the stage id rather just send the boat to someone have it finished off and set up. I'd prefer someone with previous HPR knowledge but anyone with a twin cat should be ok?

        Best regards, Liam.

obviously i'd ship it to wherever and back, pay for any parts i need (shouldn't need any bar new batteries)

Thinking about it, my interest never died... my toys only got bigger, just singed off the worlds biggest cruise ship a few weeks ago which is electric propulsion...

          take that lehner... P4080054.jpg

A lot of people on here have built fast twin setups, a short video would help a lot. I would try again with the andy brown 447s, they should get the boat on plane easily. I've had some propshop props make it difficult to plane out.

The setup is still up to date. Although the rpm is low I don't really think thats a big deal. I ran 1600kv motors in a twin cat for 80 mph with a reduced 457. Again though, people have posted videos of boat running problems, it should be an easy fix.

Hi, im in the north east, newcastle area. can easily travel.

And i don't have any batteries anymore, so can't really run it, don't want to purchase batteries of my own again to waste them...

i remember when i first built the boat everyone told me my rpm was far too high... how things change lol.

would these be a good choice? https://translate.google.co.uk/trans...e/&prev=search

I'm really more interested now at having someone set it up for me.

I've sent manuel wenny an email hoping he will take the project on... will wait and see.

Sometimes when it won't get on plane it's the props just aren't biting hard enough for your rpm. I would try some different props that aren't tailored to just running fast. Maybe like a pair of 447's.

I've been in contact with manuel wenny (i believe pbspassau?) and hopefully it will be shipped to Austria for him to set up once he has sorted out a few personal things in the next few weeks.

We might see it run!! woo
