CC surface ESC's who's gotm' in their boats?

1/5Th & 1/8th scale esc"s i read some where some person(s) are using the new Mamaba
    Monster and XL 2's.
    are they Great or what?
seems better than Hydra and ICE but why not the Proof like for their surface?
obviously they do not rate as high(on some models) amps but if Monster Mamba 2 is 120A
what is (8's) related to with XL 1/5th scale 150a or 180a?
    Wetter wants to know.
CC does not specify on XL model amp rating on their site (yes i could call them)but ? is here.
    Thanx again my wet friends.

Historically car ESCs have not been stellar in boats. Their amp rating is different, usually much higher than the same controller in a marine configuration - because cars have good airflow to cool the ESC. They are made small to fit in cars and compromise robustness. Castle's Hydra ICE is a far better ESC for boats, FETs mounted better, direct water cooling, and firmware specifically designed for boats. I'm not saying they won't work (back in brushed days I used car controllers when we had nothing better, but they didn't perform like the specs said they should) but I'd normally stick with proven marine controllers.

That said, I have used Castle airplane ICE controllers I bought before the Hydra ICE controllers came out. They worked great but need a fan for cooling - and I would not put them in boats with small internal air volumes like riggers. They should work great because they are virtually identical to the HydraICE controllers - just without water cooling and with different firmware.
