Mean Machine Motor

Just looking for opinions on my motor choice. I am looking at the 1515 1y. Any other suggestions?

That wld be a screamer in that hull. Probably will result in significant air time though. I saw another post somewhere with that set-up and they liked it.

your mm runs great. Put the 1515 in a mono. just my opinion. Talk to Hugh about the 1521

well the 7xl is going away. I made a bit of a trade with avanti for his little hydro. I may just get another 7xl. But I am thinking of stepping up to the Neu. I will be slimming down the fleet and building some better boats. I may even build a DF 33 in the near future.

Hard to go wrong on 4S with a 1515/1y. Maybe the the greatest motor yet for that power. You could do a 1521, but effiency would go down, and you could turn a bigger wheel. I would stay with the 1515. When effiency goes down, heat goes up.

ok, guys, what are your opinions on the 1515 1.5d? OSE is waiting on the 1y's right now and not sure when they will be in. Should I go ahead with the 1.5d or wait for a 1y?

NOT! A 1515/1.5D sucks juice like crazy. You will be happy with it for about 30 seconds before it smokes the controller.

I run one in a SAWS boat, not an oval boat.

Wait for the 1515/1Y.

The 1515/1Y is on backlog for a reason!

I went ahead with the 7xl for now. I have something up my sleeve for the near future once I get rid of some extra hulls that I no longer need.
