    ML Boatworks frame-up

Just framed up my 1/10 kit from ML Boatworks (1977 Atlas...supposed to be anyway). Not sure where to go from here. What thickness birch should I be decking this rig in? Should I buy the Newton Plan set, or can I make the sponson sides and bottoms by hand with some overhang to shape and sand? I assume the tunnel strips just follow the dotted lines? What about the blunt section in the front? Half-moon of a large dowel? Any and all opinions thanks.

Should I buy the Newton Plan set, or can I make the sponson sides and bottoms by hand with some overhang to shape and sand? Either way, the newton plans a good guide, but you will still need to make your sheeting templates slightly larger and sand the overhangs

I assume the tunnel strips just follow the dotted lines? Yep

What about the blunt section in the front? Half-moon of a large dowel? If you get a dowel in the right size, that is an excellent option!

Sorry for my slow replys this week. I was working out of town and had very little time to reply to emails. Been doing that all morning today! Mike, ML Boatworks

Hey, thanks for the reply Mike! Finding 1/16 ply is difficult around here. I saw Michaels Arts and Crafts had 1/32 and 1/64..but no 1/16 and hardly long enough for the top deck. Who do you recommend I get ply from that is long enough? I was also following your build forum on the GP boats to get an idea on how I am supposed to shape and sand the sponsons at the shear. I surmised that following the ribs is primary and cut and sand the shears if needed. What grit do you use here?
