    Motor/ESC recommendation

    Hi All,

I just picked up a Blackjack 26 and am planning on doing a full build including a carbon fiber inlay.

I am getting ready to make an order on Hobby King that i dont mind waiting a long time for. And with this project coming up soon, i want to try to get a motor/esc recommendation. They are cheap and this isnt a race boat i just play when i take my real boat out. So i dont care to much about high end quality

What i am thinking for an esc is around the 120 amp range.

I have no clue for motor. But i will be running mainly on 4s possibly up to 6s. Im thinkinkg aboud the 12-1500 kv range? Correct me if i am wrong.

    Thank you in advance
    steve

My buddy has this motor in his geico on a 6s setup,
    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._Inrunner.html
But he is using a 130a HV Seaking esc.
He love the motor and price to.
My be you could use the 1650kv on,
But 6s in that hull I am not to sure about the hull you have.
Do you have any pictures of you boat or a link to one ?

        Ok,
From what I have seen and read they do not handle the best.
But I guess with the right modding it may do a little better,
May be with some added weight of the bigger cells and the right setup it will ride better to.

You would need to start with medium size prop,
For 6s setup and do 1 minute run and check temps on everything.
Than move up in prop size if temps are good and check again.
