Hello there, this isn't a question just some info. The tp 5660 motor used to be the same size as the leos and other 5692 motors. They have come out with there new version of the 5660 and it is smaller in length, now 5672. The new build eliminates wasted space in the can and it is now a 2 piece construction versus a three. The quality seems excellent and they claim better tolerances which i tend to believe. Iam somewhat new to boats but i am a licensed industrial millwrigh and have been installing and rebuilding ac and dc drives for over 20 years amoung other things.
PLEASE NOTE: the new motor will not fit in a great many of the motor mounts out there due to the decreased can size at only 72mm. I had one of the old style but there were some possible issues with it (bought third party not TP). TP was gracious
Enough to replace it, my problem is i have a $75 motor mount that is no good to me now. The whole purpose of this is to let others know before they end up with a motor mount no good to them either, i didnt want this to come accross as me slamming the company therefor the very lengthy message.
