    tp power 4050L- new specs

Looks like tp power has removed the 4050L and replaced it with the 4050 with a shorter can. 52,000 rpm max and 5,000 watts peak which is pretty ridiculous. Just thought I'd pass this piece of information along, I'm eager to give this one a try.

Also just a heads up. The new 40XX series motors are now 39.5mm in diameter. Something to look out for if using a water jacket other then TP's.

I put a Leopard jacket from a Leo 4082 on my TP Power 4060; fit well. Killer motor BTW

          Yes. No difference in performance.

I have one, 2200kv. The supplied orings didn't fit well, they were too thin, so I got some more that were slightly bigger diameter. Currently the motor is in my rebuilt rigger and is running 4s 2p on a 447/3. I will get some pics and gps speed in the next few weeks. It's first outing ended upside down, front straight, first race, first lap, out for the day with bent booms and rudder bracket. Driver error, motor is good, boat was fast.

Thanks Rocstar22. Thinking of maybe doing a CF famtasm with twin tp 4050's 2390kv.

They had a problem resizing orings to the motors. Some went to 39.5mm instead of the advertized 40mm cans making orings small. For anybody running a 5660 series they have gone from a 5692 to 5682 making many motor mounts unsuitable. I am modifying on to suit at the moment. Lucky it wasn't in the boat! Looks like the website is updated but suppliers could have different combinations in stock. An email to TP got things fixed fast

                    Bet you haven't seen a 4070TP, 4" long with 8mm shaft...

Now you have. Can't say anymore until Michigan, boat is being built behind the motor.

I just install a pair of the tp4050 3Y to be run on 6s. I have them in a zonda that I modified and still have a few thins left to do. I'm hoping for a fast summer. There are a few guys from the west cost that bring there full sized drag boats over that I want to show the speeds gained over the winter. I think I will dig out the big cat and do some more work on it soon also. I'm thinking of running a pair of 5850 6D on 8s with it. I still haven't put it back in the water since the fist trial run when I installed the wrong flex shaft. The motors I have may be enough. Hard to say till I put it back in. I want to do some beefing up of the hull first. I have to work on the custom rudder also as it is way to touchy.

I was speaking to a friend of mine on the forum and he says that the older TP 4050L is more powerful than the new TP 4050. Does anyone know if this is the case? Because on TP Power main website it show that the new TP40xx motor have a higher Wattage.

                            Thanks

Hi, Ray! I have the photos of your 4070 motor too :) , and the engineer has developed the whole 4070 product line inspired by your suggestion.
I will release the product later after you give some feedback of real test, to see whether there is something can be improved. Thank you!

BTW, I know this is a boat forum, but very proud to share the information that our TP2940 motors beat a record in the EDF jet market by obtaining 9 pound thrust in a 70mm EDF fan!
