is fightercat a good boat to build?

Im looking at getting a 32 inch river cat in carbon fiber to build. I currently have a miss geico 29 and I wanted to build something a little faster and better looking. My goal is about 55mph and I want it to run smooth....no porpoising like the geico does. If anyone has any experience or insight on this hull, let me know. Im just unsure of the quality. Also, is this boat meant for a single motor or dual motor setup? It has a pad on the rear which you mount the rudder so I guess its center steer only?

I ran one with a Leopard 4074 1400kv motor on 6s with a Prather 215 it was a great boat always ran cold on this setup and speed was around 50/55mph
    run time around 5 minutes 2 x 3s 5000 mAh packs for 6s perfecto!

I had a River Cat 32" , i ran with a Leopard 4082 - 1600 kv , T-180 with external BEC on 2x 3s- 5000s with a m545 for 67mph , mine was the gel-coat version . It had a centered in line rudder (offset would of been better). I found it rather tight for placing the battery's in this hull . I sold it for this reason . Fast and stable when set up right for WOT & SAW runs , but comers and turns must be taken at slower speeds .

A little better handiling with an offset rudder fitted.

With my big hands , i just needed more space . I had the privilege too see the Mean Machine in action like it for 70 mph on similar set up
          and handle well .

The motor I plan on running is a castle 1515 1y 2200kv on 4s or 5s. So it ought to be fairly quick. Does anyone have any pics of the hardware installed to give me some ideas? If you don't mind that is. Also of particular interest is how to run the shaft out of the boat? Pics of that hopefully. What about using miss geico hardware off my miss geico?think that may work? I have the offset rudder from a blackjack 29

I looked through your pics btw and didn't see how you ran the drive for the single. If you have any pics of that and couple post them, it would be greatly appreciated!

I run the Fine Design Rudder/Strut combo in my 32 SAW boat. It's held up pretty well in numerous blow overs though I had to make some minor mods to make it work.
                    http://www.finedesignrc.com/hardware.asp

The River 32 is a great looking hull but the narrow beam keeps it from being a good turning boat at speed. The narrow sponsons also limit what batteries you can use. 4S 5000 packs wont fit in her unless you take some lip out of the hatch opening and that will weaken the deck causing cracks to develop. Consider the FC Cheetah or the new version Aeromarine Mean machine. Still good looking boats IMO but they will turn better and they have plenty of sponson room for 4S packs.

Thanks. Ill look into those. I am dead set on the carbon fiber tho. Really not too worried about turning well, just decent straight line speed is what I like. Thanks for the link, they have some nice stuff there.

Here are two that I built as singles. A carbon fiber and a fiberglass hull.

Awesome. Thx. Question. How is it built up around shaft on the bottom side? In the pics I've seen on a bare hull, its flat when you get it new.

Also, the hump in the middle....are you forming that over a 2x4 board? Sorry for all the questions. Im new to this but im pretty handy. I have a vacuum bagging carbon fiber setup and a mill/lathe so I can do quite a few things. I just need some ideas on how you guys are doing it. I just want it to be right.
