    traxxas Villain IV floation help

    Hello everybody,

Just for chits & kicks I took my stock traxxas vilian iv out to play today. I ran it in the stock configuration with two 1500mah nicd packs, pushing the original plastic props. I wasn't expecting much, but I was kinda surprised when it couldn't even get up on plain.. It was heavy enough that it ran real wet & plowed around. d. .....

I pulled it into shore and replaced the nicd's with a Gens ace 5000mah 40c, 2s1p bullet pack. The difference was night & day. It jumped on plane & was considerably faster, go figure....... What was surprising was the amount of water that it took on. It was dry inside the hatch but taking on water in between the hulls have been an issue with the villian's.

Has anyone had this issue or found a good solution to remedy it ?. I was pondering some of the pourable eurathane foam Steven sells here. A lot of people use it to fill in between the hulls of ul-1's. Any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks.......

I used hot glue around the seam on mine. I think the foam would be to heavy once water got in it for the stock motors to push. I am sure an epoxy would be better, but I only had hot glue where I was, and the nearest hobby shop was 2hrs away.

Thanks wakeboard, fortunately I don't have any plans on leaving her stock. I am going to add hotter motors, upgrade the ESC, two x447 or m455 props, & make a few mods from make-a-wake's, wolf in sheep's clothing build thread.

A priority is to address the issue of the villain taking on H20 when its just sitting on the water. My last villain had the same issue & I don't want to see this one under water before I can get a rescue boat out to it.......
