next dumb question if i get a high discharge rate it will only use what it needs right. to big is better than to small as long as esc is rated for it?

For a 4074 I would use more battery yes . Those packs will work but it will be hard on them.

                Hi,
From what I have read on hear the stock motor is a pretty good motor.
And should be fine on 4s and 5s if not over propped on the setup.
And yes the 180a esc will do the job well,
As for cells 4s or 5s 40c 5000 turnigy should handle most setups for that hull.
I would just run the stock motor with a 180a turnigy esc and up grade the flex shaft to a .187,
And try the 2s 25c to 40c 5000mah cells you have and see how it run like that.
                ? ONLY IF THEY WORK
