    Best rattle can paint?

Any suggestions on a good rattle can paint and clear? I was going to have my boat painted professionally but it's really expensive. I've decided to paint myself one color, then going to have it custom wrapped.

I don't know if one is realy better than another. I just use Krylon. I try to find something that hasn't sat on the self too long. Old paint can cause trouble. Warming the can in hot tap water realy helps a bunch.

I've done one boat in Krylon and seen a number of others done in it, never again! Seen it wrinkle up too many times, issues with one colour over another, have a specific time window for re-coats... Watched the clear coat peel off like a layer of rubber off my buddies GP335 on one of it's first outings.
All my others are done with Dupli Color auto touch up paint, piles of colours, many "effect" type paints, can spray the second coat almost whenever.
Some people have good luck with it, myself and some of my buddies not so much.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

I have used rattle cans (your choice there) and then used a two part automotive clear cote to seal and shine everything. Nitro proof also. NAPA has a Crossfire clear that comes at about $40 a quart and 8oz of hardener $14. Needs no thinning, mixes 4/1 and can be applied with an airbrush or cheap touch up gun like Harbor Freight sells for under $20. Yes that's an up front investment but will paint a dozen or more boats. Find a friend and split the costs.

I primarily stick to krylon & dupli-color. They work pretty good as long as you do your prep work. A friend likes to depressurize dupli-color rattle cans, drain the paint from them & reshoot it thru his airbrush after letting the thinner evaporate & thicken up a bit. He has some really nice results.

I recently picked up this Pro-boat thundercat from a guy locally, after he stuffed the sponsors in a buoy & smashed it up . I rebuilt the front end and got the sponsor edges sharp & clean. Then I sealed it up with 4 coats of krylon brushed nickel, & 4 coats of krylon clear . My main concern was to get it back on the water b4 it got to cold to shoot paint outside, otherwise I would have stripped & repainted the hull.
