Does anyone own a vac-u-tow 1 or 2. I am looking to get one for recovery work and curious to what others think. Thanks

I use a Vac-U-Tow. Has a floating grappling hook on about 8ft of high strength kite line. Just run it out and turn around the stranded boat and head back. Has worked perfect everytime. Upgraded the motor to a 27 turn crawler motor and a Traxxas brushed esc. Planty of power and runs nice and cool. Even has a water cannon running on a window squirt pump from a car. Small, cheap, dependable, powerful and alot of fun.

It might be overkill but I like the twin version. Can u link a pic of how you setup the water cannon?

Yea I'll get a pic later tonight or in the morning, it's out in my camper. I bought it from a guy on here and if I can find the thread before I get a pic I'll post a link.

          Found the thread http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...llection/page2
It's the black square towards the bow. It's plumbed through the bottom of the hull and goes up to the small white tube on the top of the wheelhouse. Just plumbed with a piece of water cooling line so you can remove the top. I use a small micro switch on top of a servo hooked to a third channel of the radio to turn it on and off. I'll still try to get a better pic.

Looks simple enough. What's the biggest thing you have recovered with it?

Has towed in the PT Stealth in my avatar(upside down), 36" cat, Aquacraft Atlantic tug. When towing anything in I barely give it any throttle, has enough power to drag the Stealth underwater if I want. Even had it pushing around my nephew on a raft in my dad's pool. He's small and it wasn't very fast, but it moved him around.

Wow for a single that's quite a bit of power.
